I describe this route as a leisure ride. We will not be going too fast but we try to maintain a minimum speed on the move of 10 mph. The route aims to avoid busy roads and makes use of designated cycle routes as much as possible. We leave and finish at Hugh's in Burnside. The route takes us out to Johnstone via Pollok Park and Paisley, and returning across the Renfrew Bridge and through Glasgow and Rutherglen. You can view the route in detail at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53863194

We will be using mainly cycle ways and quiet roads. There are some short sections of ‘busier’ roads.

The ride heads out to Johnstone where we will stop at the Callans Community Café which has toilets, good refreshments, and it is very friendly. Please note that although they will take cards, they prefer cash. If anyone sees something they'd like to stop and look at, we'll stop.

This is Scotland and as we all know, the weather can be ‘variable’. Please check the forecast before leaving and come prepared. If the weather looks to be really terrible, the ride is likely to be cancelled.

First-timers welcome but please check the anticipated cycle speed.
