Starting at the Cambuslang Park-and-Ride, we cross the Clyde and head west to pick up London Road which takes us through to Glasgow Green on segregated cycle paths. From there we take NCN 7 out to Bowling joining the Forth and Clyde Canal towpath at Clydebank. We then return to Clydebank and take NCN 754 to Maryhill where there is the option to continue for a short distance to see Bella the bethir. We then follow NCN 756 down to the Clyde and return to Cambuslang either by retracing our route along London Road or alternatively following the Clyde Walkway or going through Rutherglen.
Please be aware that this is a Steady ride which uses mainly shared paths. The average speed on the move will be about 10mph or the speed of the slowest. This is not the route for you if you are looking for a fast road ride.

I describe this route as a leisure ride. It tries to avoid roads and makes use of cycle paths as much as possible. It takes us out to Bowling on the Forth and Clyde Canal. We then head back along the canal to Maryhill where we follow the Kelvin Way down to the Clyde.

Wherever possible, the route follows the National Cycle Network, much of which is shared paths. The route is classified as paved for the 99% of its length. There will be some cycling on roads which have cycle lanes and some with none but I have kept them to a minimum.

The ride heads out to the end of the Forth and Clyde Canal where we will stop at the café which has toilets. https://www.facebook.com/p/Patons-Place-100043279343171/ If anyone sees something they'd like to stop and look at, we'll stop.

This is Scotland and as we all know, the weather can be ‘variable’. Please check the forecast before leaving and come prepared. If the weather looks to be really terrible, the ride is likely to be cancelled.

We never leave anyone behind
