Easy Evening Saunter to Finchale

Start at Gala Theatre, Millennium Place DH1 1WA

Join us for this short evening ride and enjoy the long summer daylight hours. The ride is suitable for both newcomers to Breeze and for regulars and will be sociable and at a relaxed pace.

We’ll start from outside the Gala and head past the DLI and through Aykley Heads, Newton Hall and Brasside before reaching Finchale Abbey. Our way back will be round the back of the prison down Frankland Lane for one of the best cathedral views and down past Crook Hall to Framwellgate riverside back to the start, Our route is good quality off road and quiet roads.

Because this is Durham, it is not flat as we must climb up away from the River Wear before descending back down to it at Finchale. However, hills mean views and a big sense of satisfaction.

In order for the ride to leave promptly, please be punctual so we can carry out bike checks, etc. prior to us setting off. Make sure your bike is in working condition and bring a spare tube to fit your tyres.
