We will meet on the cyclepath down from the cafe, at the actual Dunston Staiths structure.

Parking is limited, but you can park on Rose street just a street from the cafe. There is also a small car park at the top of Rose Street.
The Staiths Cafe is located on the South bank of the River Tyne and set against the stunning backdrop of the historic Dunston Staiths structure, a scheduled monument and Grade II listed timber structure. Situated in the heart of an award winning development designed by Wayne Hemingway, the cafe faces onto the riverside and protected mud flats and bird habitat. Located on the Keelman’s Way and part of the Coast 2 Coast, the cafe provides a unique stopping point for the many cyclists, walkers, tourists, neighbours and commuters that pass its doors.

We'll start at the Staiths Cafe, and will follow NCN route 14 all the way to the Derwent walk.
There, we'll stop for a coffee and cake at the Land of the Oak and Iron Café.
After the stop we'll continue on along the Derwent walk to go around the Kite Hill viewpoint (option to go up there), then we'll turn back and follow to path to Swalwell, where we'll be back on route 14 again and come back to the Staiths cafe on a slightly different way, behind the MetroCentre.
The route is easy, mainly traffic free, gentle ride along route 14, which is part of the Coast to Coast cycle route.
This is an easy ride for beginners, who are looking to increase their distance a bit.
