Lake District World Heritage Site Guided Tour - Haweswater - 16 mile bike ride

With the Lake District having just gained UNESCO World Heritage Site status, a member of the Lake District National Park Authority team will be on hand on this ride to explain more about the World Heritage Site and why the area deserves this status.Starting in the picturesque village of Askham, this ride takes in some great, quiet country lanes with some excellent views along the way.Passing through picturesque villages along the way before the amazing sight of Haweswater Reservoir comes in to view, soon after you reach the half way point of the ride at the beautiful Haweswater Hotel where you can take a break for some refreshments. Here the views along Ullswater are stunning and well worthy of the 7 miles to reach them.From there the route makes its way back to Askham on a different route passing by an old red post box and a stunning bridge over the River Lowther. There is another chance for some refreshments as you we end the ride back at the Queens Head Inn, Askham.Please note that the total ride time for this event has been extended due to the guided tour element of the ride.
