From the start we will be on the Eastern Flyer, some of it away from the road network, some of it alongside, we get to ride over the 419 and we will get to see the new Horse statue at Gable Cross. We then pass by the Bodleian Library book storage facility before doing a bit of morse code to get us closer to Nightingale woods, half a lap of the woods gets us to Roves Farm and after coffee we do the other half

a nice flat 5 mile ride, almost entirely traffic along the Eastern Flyer and beyond to the popular Roves farm where the cafe will be open for us. Then after a jaunt around Nightingale Woods we follow our tyre tracks back to Swindon

95% traffic free, we will be on cycle paths, off road tracks and trails and just a small bit of tarmac road in S Marston

The staff at Roves Farm will be happy to serve us Tea, Coffe and Cakes, or home made saugage rolls. Bring a bags if you wish take some of their delicious sausages home

Don’t forget a full water bottle with your favourite thirst quencher. Govt Guidance means face masks are no longer mandatory but we would ask you to bring a face mask as some venues may request it and also first aid may be required. For all our rides you should bring at least a spare inner tube and a pump. If your wheels are bolted-on then a spanner that fits the wheel nuts is also essential. Helmets are not compulsory but most definitely recommended. You should dress appropriately for the weather, and consider bringing your mobile phone along with cash or debit card for the refreshment stop. Some place’s only take card payments.

This is an ideal ride for those wishing to sample short safe group rides, done at an easy pace along with our no-one gets left behind guarantee
