Glasson, Carnforth Loop

This is a new ride for the FC’s.

Setting off from Glasson along the old railway to Lancaster, turning in towards the Castle and joining the canal. We will travel along the canal and cross the Lune using the aqueduct. The ride will continue along the canal bank skirting Morecambe towards Carnforth where we leave and ride towards the coast, taking a turn around the town and stopping for lunch. ( possibly train station or other alternative)
We will then return to Lancaster along the river path and re-joining the railway path back to Glasson.

There will be an alternative route that will take in Morcambe on the way to Carnforth, to be tried on another day.

We'll ride at a steady pace of 8 - 10 mph on this ride and we'll keep our pace at a level so that we can all stay together.
Remember, this is not a race, but a leisurely ride at a pace to suit the slowest in the group!
Please check your bike over the night before the ride, tyres inflated, all bolts tight, lubricated. Clothing, helmet & lights checked and ready. Please ensure you have a pump and a couple of spare tubes in case of punctures and a good secure lock.
It would be great to have some new & some familiar faces on this ride, you're all welcome & I look forward to riding with you.
Please be at the start point at least 15 mins before the ride start time, ready to ride, so that we are able to get away at the stated start time

A scenic ride utilising the cycle paths and canal banks around Lancaster

The will be some roads but the majority of the ride will be paths and canal towpath

We will be looking to stop at Woodies snack bar
