25th May is the London Festival of Cycling! Join us for a bike ride and picnic in beautiful Canons Park. We'll take quiet roads and parks where possible to get there and aim to arrive by 12 noon. Friends and family are very welcome to join us there. Bring a picnic or buy something at the café. Come and celebrate with other cyclists from across Harrow and beyond. We'll spend a couple of hours at the picnic before returning around 2pm Our cycling route is a circular one, starting and ending at Hatch End Station. While there are a few hills along the way, they’re nothing to worry about—we’ll regroup at the top of each one. The route includes some busy roads, but we’ll mostly be sticking to quieter ones for a more relaxed ride. On the way to Canons Park, we’ll pass by the north side of Stanmore Golf Course, and on the way back, we’ll take the south side to add some variety to the journey. To make things even more interesting, there’s a farm ride toward the end of the route. The ride is suitable for all adults over 16, and our golden rule is that no one gets left behind—we ride as a group and support each other throughout. Please check your bike thoroughly before you come, make sure the tyres are pumped up and brakes are working. - Bring a picnic, water, something to sit on, a bike lock and money/card for the café. I also recommend you carry a spare inner tube. - If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to message me.
