Starting point

Renfrewshire

This is a out-and-back ride to the scenic Greenside Reservoir, in the Kilpatrick Hills. We ride on cycle path NCN7 to Clydebank, then head north as the road starts to gently ascend. The final climb to the reservoir is about 3 mi and 5% average. The last 2 mi are on compact gravel, hence you need suitable tyres. We return on the same route, enjoying the descent.

The route is on cycle paths, some open roads and a final part on a compacted gravel track: suitable tyres are required. This ride includes a steady climb (3 mi at about 5%), some fitness on the bike is required.

We will have a short break at the reservoir, before returning on the same route. There are no facilities.

Riders must use a bike with gears in working order, suitable to ride hills (no single-gear) and tyres suitable for compact gravel. A helmet is highly recommended. Riders should carry snacks and plenty of water, as there are no opportunities to refuel. Dress for the weather.

We never leave anyone behind
