This is our first ride to Bea's Coffee Barn in King's Langley. The 26 mile route provides a challenge with some significant climbs.

The route heads north to Carpenders Park and continues through Watford to Hunton Bridge. Using the canal towpath, it takes us to King's Langley. The refreshment stop is at the top of a hill so there's a good excuse to indulge in a cake to allow for refuelling.

The return leg starts with another serious ascent to Chipperfield. It turns south to Chandler's Cross and takes in a few more hills before reaching Watford. The return to Hatch End retraces the outward route.

Check your bike before the ride, paying particular attention to the brakes and tyres. Use this guide: https://lcc.org.uk/advice/bike-safety-check/. Bring a spare innertube, a pump and tools to fix a puncture.

The time for the ride is a best estimate by the Ride Leader. Sometimes it can be affected by factors such as the weather, mechanical issues, the queue at the cafe, etc. We have a policy of leaving no rider behind so, if anyone is struggling, we will adjust the speed and take rest stops if necessary.
