**This ride involves a return to Harrow by tube. TfL does not allow non-folding electric bike on its services.**

This is a one-way ride to Trinity Buoy Wharf in Docklands. The Wharf is home to a number of art projects and installations, a piece of music that will play for 1000 years without repetition, possibly London’s smallest museum and a variety of other curiosities. https://www.trinitybuoywharf.com/

Please note that the Longplayer installation now only opens at weekends, so you will not be able to see/hear it on this occasion. You can listen to the live stream at longplayer.org.

The route starts on quiet roads before taking us through North Wembley and Alperton to join the canal towpath at Stonebridge. We follow this off-road route to Westbourne Green. Your ride leader may bore you with tales from his childhood at this point! Re-joining the canal at Little Venice, we head for Paddington Basin and then use quiet roads to reach Hyde Park. We then use cycleways to make our way through central London, passing a number landmarks, to get to Limehouse. Low traffic roads and paths get us through Poplar and Leamouth to reach the Wharf, 21 miles into our journey.

After time to look around and refuel at the Orchard Cafe, it’s a four mile ride to Aldgate via Langdon Park, the Limehouse Cut and Cable Street on Cycleway 13. The Metropolitan Line will take us back to Harrow. Note that there is no step-free access at Aldgate so we'll have to carry our bikes down to the platform.

Most of the distance is completed before the coffee stop. We'll also stop for photos at various landmarks. You may wish to bring a snack to tide you over.

The time for the ride is a best estimate by the Ride Leader. Sometimes this can be affected by factors such as the weather, mechanical issues, the queue at the cafe, etc. We have a policy of leaving no rider behind so, if anyone is struggling, we will adjust the speed and take rest stops if necessary.
