Starting from - Go Ape, Rivington. Parking is available with toilets nearby. Please arrive 15 minutes beforehand for a safety check.

This ride is part of our Winter Miles Summer Smiles challenge where those who take part in four rides with Horwich Ride Social will receive a small cycling related gift.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the start time for a quick safety check.

This will be a fairly relaxed pace around 8-10 miles per hour, over a total distance of 15 miles and is open to Horwich Ride Social Mixed.

Heading off from Go Ape we head off along tracks and lanes to pick up the canal tow path towards Wigan Golf Club. Then the fun begins, with some climbs and some exhilarating downhills, before stopping for a rest and refreshments at Haigh Hall. Another couple of ups and downs before returning to the Car Park.

Please ensure your bike is in good working condition. Check your gears and brakes at least the night before.

You must be a member of HRS to take part. If you are not already a member then please go to our website at https://www.horwichridesocial.org/ to complete a New Participant Form. Helmets are mandatory on our rides.

Please ensure you bring a spare inner tube, tyre levers and a pump in case of a puncture. We will have a cafe stop at Haigh Hall but please bring any additional drinks/snacks you may need. Remember to check the weather forecast and be prepared for a muddy puddle or two.
