Starting from - The start point will be the main car park of Newcastle College on Scotswood Road (outside the Lifestyle Academy, which is the building to the right as you enter the car park).
If arriving by car, it is possible to park for free in the College car park, but the postcode MAY take you to the top of the College campus. The main car park is at the bottom end of the campus. If you're not familiar with where the main car park is, consider using What 3 Words rather than postcode:

Liquorice Allsorts
Saturday 3rd June - 35 miles
Expect to be out for about 5-5.5hrs in total.
Mostly suited to bikes with robust tyres.

RIDE/ROUTE DESCRIPTION:
This route has it ALL - quiet roads, paved cycle paths, gravel cycle tracks, bridleways... but no liquorice!.
We'll go over the High Level Bridge and make our way to the Tyne Cycle Tunnel before heading in to North Tyneside.
What better place to stop for a picnic lunch than at the 'Eat for England' sculpture - The Spoon! (BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH!)
The route is mostly suited to bikes with robust tyres.
The pace will be steady but you must be capable of riding the distance on varied terrain.

THE BORING BUT IMPORTANT BITS....
Please make sure your bike is in working condition PRIOR to arriving for the ride and bring a spare inner tube to fit your tyres (check the valve type too!) and/or a puncture repair kit. The leaders can help you fix a puncture, but only if you have the right size inner tube for your bike or a puncture repair kit!
Whilst we welcome any bike type, we have zero knowledge of e-bikes, so if you are riding an e-bike, please come prepared to independently sort out any mechanicals that you may have.

If the weather is poor, we will contact you if we are cancelling the ride and will do so by putting a message in the ‘conversation’ tab in the ride. You should receive a notification by email if there is a message. If you have not heard from us, we are still riding.

If you book on this ride and then find you have to cancel, please do so as soon as you can so that your place is available to someone else.

The organiser of the ride may take photographs or videos of the ride and riders for publicity purposes. By registering to participate in the ride, you agree that photographic images of you or containing you, may be used by the organiser, sponsors or promoters of the ride for publicity purposes

We look forward to seeing you.
