Route rating
(0) ReviewsThis Challenging Sportive training route, starts at Tweedbank, and from there we will cycle down to Leaderfoot before heading on quiet lanes up to Earlston, and then on to Lauder. A steep climb out of Lauder, followed by a thrilling descent to Stow. With a coffee stop there we can then head back up hill out of Stow and wind our way back to Gala, and then join the Black Path back to Tweedbank.
Mostly quiet country roads and lanes, with some sections on busier routes through Lauder and skirting Galashiels. This route is just shy of 30 miles with 2900 feet of climbing and so is rated as Challenging.
We have coffee stop options in Lauder and Stow. We will take our time to stop and regroup, catch our breath, and take photos.
Helmets are mandatory. Please make sure you bike is fully road worthy and tyres are pumped. Please be sure to bring a spare inner tube, any tools you may need for your bike, and if you are using an E bike, ensure that the battery is fully charged. Front and rear lights are recommended. Obviously, dress for the weather.
We never leave anyone behind
