Starting point

LL40 2HZ

We will meet at Beics Brenin promptly please so we're not hanging around in the cold too long. Its just below the visitor centre at Coed y Brenin and at the start of the Minotaur route.

This is a mountain bike ride, run by L1 mountain bike leaders who are also Breeze Champions. This is part of the Beics Brenin Women’s Ride Series. This ride is suited to beginners/improvers who would like to start riding the blue graded single track trails & have basic off road riding skills.

Loop 1 introduces you to First Steps, a stone pitched ford, a couple of small stone drop offs with a sweeping final 10 berm descent down the Slipway. Loop 2 adds on to the end of Loop 1. This will allow you to enjoy the White Bull, which is a faster section of trail adding new features such as climbing rollers and swooping ups and downs. Loop 3 is a progression from the previous two, Buwch Bren has longer sustained climbs, more technical features, including hips and a series of climbing turns, all with a narrower width designed to improve your single track cross country riding skills. There are unavoidable cross trail slopes on some technical trail features.

The trail surface may be loose, uneven or muddy at times hence is only suited to mountain bikes or hybrids fitted with mountain bike tyres. 145 m max climb, max gradient on singletrack 7% & 12% on forest fire road. Min trail width 1.0 metres.
Please bring suitable warm clothing and waterproofs as the weather can be changeable in the forest. The ride will take approx. xxxx mins and we should be back in time to enjoy a coffee at the Café.
Helmets are compulsory for this ride, together with suitable cycling gloves and ideally glasses. Please bring a spare tube and any necessary tools you may need - ie pump, plus a drink.
I look forward to seeing you all. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions (email address)

Note: You can hire bikes, helmets and equipment from Beics Brenin at Coed Y Brenin. Special discounts apply on Bike hire for Breeze participants.
