This Challenging 24 mile route goes out on B769 from Newton Mearns to Stewarton road, with some steep climbs before descending into Stewarton - the Bonnet Toun. There are cafes and shops there, if required. We will then ride over towards Fenwick, before returning to Newton Mearns on the segregated cycle lane alongside the A77.
Great for more experienced riders, our Challenging rides allow riders to cover a good distance and conquer some hills in the comfort of a group:
https://www.letsride.co.uk/ride-levels1. Clearly we need to ride in line with the Scottish Government's guidance on COVID-19 at all times. Please do not leave your home to undertake exercise or outdoor activity if Scottish Government advice means you should stay at home because you or someone you live with has or has had symptoms of COVID-19.
2. We are permitted to conduct group rides providing physical distancing of two metres is maintained at all times. To help this we are reducing the number of participants to four to meet the Scottish Government's guidelines of no more than five households meeting up (including the leader). If you have want to bring someone from your household that should be fine - but please message the leader in advance to let them know and to plan accordingly.
3. Please also make sure before taking part that your bike is mechanically sound and bring your own food and drink, inner tubes, gloves, face coverings and hand sanitiser to help assist with social distancing and preventing unnecessary contact.
4. Please practice good respiratory hygiene during the activity (i.e.coughing, sneezing into a tissue or the crook of an elbow)
Come along and enjoy a bike ride in lovely countryside!
