A route mainly on hard surfaced roads and cycle paths starting from Taylor Park, St Helens. The route will take us out of the park towards the East Lancashire Road to Windle Island and then on to the cycle lane on the Rainford By Pass. We head towards Ormskirk via Lathom and approach the town centre from Ruff Lane. The return will be via Bickerstaffe, Rainford and Eccleston.

This ride is suitable for hybrid bikes (fitted with road and off-road tyres) and road bikes and is mostly on hard surface roads and park paths with loose stone surfaced cycle paths along a short stretch of the Rainford Mineral Line.

There will be cafe stop at Brookes Bistro in Ormskirk town centre so remember to bring along some money for a coffee and cakes (or a full English breakfast if you prefer!). Plenty of photo opportunities on the way

All riders will be required to wear a helmet and carry spare inner tubes and the means to be able to repair a puncture (assistance will be provided if required). Please also do wrap up warm and wear plenty of layers and don't forget your gloves; it may be cold!

It is essential that everybody enjoys the ride so it will be at a gentle pace (average 8-10 mph) but will be determined by the overall speed of the group. Plenty of stops for a breather and hopefully an opportunity to take lots of photos! Always remember, we will never leave anyone behind!
