To make the most of the last official day of summer this ride explores another of Ray Lonsdale Sculptures. Ray Lonsdale is a steel fabricator from Durham. Tommy or ‘Eleven O One’ the soldier sculpture at Seaham is probably the most well known in this area. Ray’s collection show the sculptor’s fascination with the human form and are built from steel, and there is plenty of his work just a bike ride away. On this route we will visit one more of his sculptures.
The follows cycle paths, quiet country lanes, some ‘B’ roads and some busier roads in Bishop Auckland
Please wear a helmet and bring suitable waterproof clothing as well as layers to ensure that you can cope with cold or wet weather! Please make sure your bike is in working condition and bring a spare inner tube to fit your tyres, a water bottle and any snacks you need to keep you energised. We should be out for about 6 hours but as always it is difficult to be precise about timing. We look forward to seeing you there Susan and Audrey - 07779346206
We never leave anyone behind
