Beginner Ride from Harrow Cycle Hub to Headstone Manor and back

This ride is suitable for people who can pedal and balance confidently on a bike, but would like to try riding on roads. We'll begin with a short practice in the car park of group riding techniques before going out on to the quiet surrounding streets. When we arrive at Headstone Manor we'll ride a circuit of the park and stop at the Lens sculpture, which commemorates the long history of Kodak on the site. We return through Harrow Recreation Ground by a slightly different route.

Children and young people over 8 who can pedal confidently are welcome on this ride, accompanied by a responsible cycling adult. We'll take a break at the Headstone Manor cafe, but you are welcome to bring your own drinks/snacks if you prefer.

Before you come please check your bike over: pump up your tyres and make sure the brakes work and the wheels turn freely. Bring water, a bike lock and card for the cafe. Check the weather and dress accordingly, not forgetting gloves.

A quiet easy route from the Hub to Headstone Manor and back

We go through a couple of parks, but not much is traffic-free. However most of the roads are pretty quiet.

Bring water and wear comfortable, non-baggy clothes clothes which will not get caught in the bike
