Leaving Robin Park we follow the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and pass Pennington Flash, Leigh Golf Club, Partridge Lakes, Croft and Locking Stumps. Then we cycle on tracks and minor roads until we reach the A57 at Hollins Green. After crossing the Warburton Toll bridge (free for cyclists) we connect up with the Trans Pennine cycle trail to Dunham Massey where we will stop for refreshments.

Our return journey will take us past the Manchester United training ground at Carrington and across Irlam Lock before heading back to Robin Park.

The ride is relatively flat and may be challenging for beginners due to the distance.

As usual photos will be taken on the ride and will be put on the Wigan and Leigh Cycling Group Facebook page - please notify the ride leaders if you do not want your photo taken.


A ride to a National Trust property on the longest day of the year.

The ride is a mixture of canal towpath, quiet roads, short stretches of busy roads and tracks and trails.

There will be short stops en route and a longer stop for refreshments so please bring drinks and snacks or money to buy them.

New riders are more than welcome on our rides and we never leave anyone behind. Helmets must be worn on this ride.
