- Please note this is a mixed ride (not Breeze)
- We will ride via Chorleywood, Latimer, up to Flaunden, Belsize, Sarratt, Solesbridge Ln, to tea at Cafe on Chorleywood common, then a short ride back to Ricky, via this route
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/46429952 - Even though the ride is short, it’s quite hilly, and there are some sharp ascents and descents which is why it is labelled as challenging. So you need to be a competent cyclist, but we will take the hills at our own pace and regroup at the top. Nobody will get left behind.
- Please bring the usual (pump, inner tubes, light café lock, etc). I would prefer you to wear a helmet for your safety.
- If you are driving to the start there is free parking at the Aquadrome - come in along Frogmore Lane.
- You can take your bike anywhere on the Metropolitan Line off-peak (peak hours are Mon-Fri 7:30-9:30 and 16:00-19:00).
https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/cycling/cycles-on-public-transportYou can take your bike on Chiltern Rail nearly any time of day – see
https://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/customer-service/travelling-your-bike - The Met line tube leaves Harrow on the Hill at 9:41, (passing through North Harrow, Pinner, Northwood Hills, etc) arriving Ricky at 9:59 (or the 9:55 arrives 10:13). Chiltern Rail leaves Harrow on the Hill at 9:39, non-stop, arriving Ricky at 9:49 (or the 10:09 arrives 10:19).
- After we leave the Rickmansworth aquadrome if you don’t know the way to the aquadrome we can come up to the Ricky tube station to pick up anyone on the way – but let me know beforehand if that’s where you want to wait.
- There are public toilets outside the aquadrome café.
- If you have any questions don’t hesitate to message me via the “message ride creator” button, with your phone number and I will respond via Whatsapp (you need to be logged in to the let’s ride website to see the button).
