THIS RIDE: a train-assisted ride along the Grand Union Canal from Uxbridge, through Rickmansworth Aquadrome. There are sections of the route which are very gravelly and narrow, so you need to be confident on your bike. Skinny tyres are not suitable for this ride. It's a short ride in mileage but takes long to navigate and on the trains.
DESTINATION: we cycle along the Grand Union Canal until we reach Rickmansworth Aquadrome, where we will stop at the Café in the Park for lunch.
THE ROUTE: we cycle to Wembley Park station to catch the Metropolitan train to Uxbridge, where we start our route along the Grand Union Canal. We first cross Denham and Harefield, which have some rough gravelly and narrow patches to tackle. After Rickmansworth, we continue through the lovely Ebury Way until Watford, where we will cycle to Carpenders Park on the Overground, taking us back to Willesden Junction where our ride ends.
We aim to be back at Roundwood Park at around 5pm.
