Starting point

Hertfordshire
HP3 9BQ

This ride is open to anyone who can cycle 30 miles at 10-12mph average. Spokes members can join on the day. This challenging route includes several steep hills to test your fitness and stamina. Please dress for the weather!

Please meet at 9.15am outside the entrance to Hemel train station for a 9.30am departure.

It is important that your bike is road worthy and that you carry spare inner tubes and a compatable pump in case of punctures. Don't forget money for coffee and cake!

After leaving the station, we will head along the valley to Berkhamsted where the route climbs into the Chilterns. We then cross over the county boundary into Bucks and start travelling through a good number of fine villages including Cholesbury, St Leonards, The Lee, South Heath and Ballinger to name a few!

We will stop in Chesham town centre for a coffee / cake break - there are a number of cafes to choose from. After being re-fueled we head out of Chesham up a steep hill towards more villages, Botley and Ley Hill, before crossing back into Herts at Bovingdon Green and back to the train station.
