We leave Eccleston and head out to Shevington for the the first climb up Gathurst Hill. Passing through Orrell followed by a loop around Rainford before tackling the climb up Shaley Brow (Crank Road). After this we have a gradual climb over Ashurst beacon the easier way followed by a couple of nice descents into Parbold and back through some quiet, flatter lanes to Eccleston.

A road ride from Eccleston to Rainford taking in some local climbs

A mixture of A and B roads, mostly quiet lanes but passing through some larger villages.

There will be a Cafe break for refreshments. Regular stops can be taken throughout the ride to re group and refresh

Helmets are always required on HRS rides. Please also be equipped with your own basic repair items and any personal hygiene equipment. Money will be needed at the Cafe stop if you intend to take efreshements there.

This is a challenging hilly road ride, best suited to road bikes or very light Hybrids. Please look at the ride description, elevation, gradient and distance and assess your own ability to be able to meet both.
