Starting point

London
E20 3AB

Please aim to arrive 10 minutes in advance for the pre-ride briefing so we will commence the ride promptly at 8.30am.

This is a feeder for the Finding the River Peck ride. Please also book a place on that ride.

From Stratford Velodrome our updated route heads to the Greenwich Foot Tunnel via the east side of the Isle of Dogs. At 6 miles we will walk through the Greenwich Foot Tunnel to get to the start point for the other ride. After that ride finishes, we will resume this ride by walking north through the Greenwich Foot Tunnel and follow the Thames Path on the east side of the Isle of Dogs and retrace our route to Stratford.

This feeder ride is relatively flat with only 340 feet of climbs across the 12 mile circuit. Occasionally a lift at the Greenwich Foot Tunnel may be out of service so the stairs would need to be used. The North Tower has 87 steps and the South Tower has 100 steps. An alternative crossing could be to take the DLR south from Island Gardens for one stop to Cutty Sark.

The combined route for the feeder/return and the River Peck ride will be 26 miles with 918 feet of climbs.

eBikes are welcome.

Children are welcome when accompanied by a responsible riding adult.

All participants are expected to bring:
• A bike in good working order with tyres pumped to the correct pressure.
• A cycle helmet
• Carry at least a spare inner tube, pump and tyre levers.
• A cycle lock for the refreshment stop on the other ride.
• Dress for the weather on the day.
• A drink.
• Lights if there is any chance of poor visibility.
