An Easy-Going amble to discover the magic of Merlin Wood and the bluebells - right on our doorstep! :)

Families with children of 8 yrs & older are warmly welcome. Children must be accompanied by a loving, supportive adult riding alongside them. :)

We will ride along the Ebury Way and use the traffic-free cycle paths down towards the Croxley Harvester, where we will go off-road down Lodge End - a little known trail which cuts away from the business of suburbia behind open fields.

We will amble along Rousebarn Lane and take on our one and only hill to reach the bluebells. This hill can be walked, or you can cycle as far up it as you can and that will then be your point to ride beyond next time! :)

At the woods, you are free to roam and wonder, whether on bike, keeping to the main paths, or to explore on foot and take some photos, before we regroup and head back down hill towards Café Amici for coffee and cake and some social time before heading back to Watford Cycle Hub.

Please bring a spare inner tube in case of a puncture - as changing an inner tube is faster than getting out the rubber glue. The Ride Leaders will happily help if anyone in the group has a puncture on the day. Watford Cycle Hub sell inner tubes from £4 new, or recycled ones for 50p patched, £1 with no patches, should you need to purchase one.

Please check your bike is in good working order before the ride - especially that your brakes are working & your tyres are pumped.

If your bike might need a little more TLC or hasn't been ridden for a while, you can always bring it in for a free assessment; we're a Not-For-Profit, Community Enterprise and promise to give you an honest price if your bike needs fixing, fine tuning or a full service. :)
