Watford Cycle Hub: Whelpley Hill: Leisurely Paced Ride

A gorgeous circular ride out from Watford Cycle Hub along some of the prettiest lanes on the verge of the Chilterns. Within just a couple of miles you will be in beautiful countryside taking in views of local villages. The 28 mile route is mainly on roads so road bikes are recommended. Perfect for a challenge and a blast of fresh air! Oh & there's the 'Ley Hill Big Dipper': a 13% descent followed immediately by a climb of similar gradient!

We run a a Challenging Category Route on the 2nd Sunday of the each month at a relatively faster pace for a leisure ride, averaging c. 12 mph + over rolling & hilly routes. However thanks to the generosity of our Watford Cycle Hub Volunteer Ride Leader Team, we are offering this ride in two pace categories so more people can come & enjoy this popular route at a pace enjoyable for them. :) This version of the ride will be paced round 10-11 mph. Both groups will ride the first few miles together & then we'll split into two groups. We will have time to all socialise together at the cafe at the Mediterranean Nursery, hopefully in glorious sunshine, before returning back to Watford Cycle Hub.
