Wigan Pier to Partridge Lakes

The ride will leave Robin Park and follow the River Douglas to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal Leigh Branch to Pennington Flash Country Park and then on to "Don's steps" at Astley Village. We then head towards Chat Moss and Four Lane Ends Farm where we make our way through the nature reserve towards Culcheth and Partridge Lakes.

After our refreshment stop we make our way on the road past Leigh Golf Club before taking to the tracks and trails to Pennington Flash Country Park and then back to Robin Park.

The ride is mainly flat but could be a challenging ride for beginners due to the distance.

Most of the metal barriers on the route are usually open but there is one on Chat Moss where some riders with larger bikes may have to do a "wheelie"

A chance to see one of the premier fishing lakes in the area.

The ride is a mixture of canal towpath, quiet roads, stretches of busy road and tracks and trails.

There will be short stops en route and a longer stop for refreshments at Partridge Lakes.

Please bring drinks/snacks or money to buy them. Helmets should be worn on this ride.
