Yearsley to Hovingham gravel track and quiet roads

Starting from - This is an off-road gravel track and quiet roads ride. Parking is on the track just inside Yearsley Woods, Grid ref: SE5829 7520. If coming through Yearsley turn left on to North Moor Lane, heading towards Ampleforth. The entrance is the next gravel turning on the right hand side. From Ampleforth it is the first gravel track on the left at the top of Yearsley Moor Bank. YO61 4SN

This is an off-road linear route starting on Yearsley Moor and riding on forest tracks to Gilling and then on quiet roads to Hovingham.
We head downhill from the start of the ride through the forest (which means it’s uphill on the way back) then fairly flat to Hovingham. Having refuelled at The Park cafe we return along the same route.
Please make sure your bike is in good working order and you carry a spare inner tube and pump suitable for your bike. Helmets are a must on this ride, no helmet - no ride! Money for refreshments and clothing suitable for the time of year. Expect to get dirty if the tracks are muddy.
