Postponed from last week;
Take advantage of possibly quieter roads than usual on this post-Easter ride to the Garrison Chapel.
We will cycle to Chelsea via Crystal Palace, Clapham and Battersea park, crossing the river at Chelsea bridge from where it is a short distance to the former Chelsea barracks and the Grade II listed Garrison chapel. The chapel is currently hosting an interesting exhibition "The Future is Female". There will be time to visit the exhibition before we have a coffee stop at a new (to us) venue by the river.
We will return via Kennington park, Peckham and Catford.
It is a lengthy, somewhat lumpy ride with the chance of congested roads and junctions to negotiate. You must be a confident cyclist in urban conditions and be able to keep up with the group. The climb up to Crystal palace is particularly challenging and the climb up Peckham Rye on the return is a tiring slog of a hill at the end of the ride
