The aim of this ride is to introduce families to what is available from the Guided Ride Programme. All bookings should be parents or guardians bringing children aged between 5 and 15, please do not book on if you do not meet this criteria as you will not be allowed to ride. All riders must be capable of riding a bicycle without stabilisers. Bikes with child seats are ok but tagalongs or trailers would be problematic on this particular ride due to the gates we need to pass through. Children in child seats do not need to be booked on. We begin with a quick bike and equipment check. This will be followed by a quick assessment of the abilities of the riders in the group which we use to dictate the pace and organisation within the group.

This is a traffic free route utilising canal paths, gravel tracks, tarmac roads within Haigh Hall along with woodland trails. We have planned this route for younger cyclists using the less busy trails and tracks up to Haigh Hall and by return. There is one area on the Whelley Loop line that is a gradient for a short segment, but we can always get off and push if necessary.

We will stop for refreshments at Haigh Hall courtyard, where during our stop there is also the adventure playground, we will then make our way down to the Haigh Model Railway who are running free rides each Sunday (weather permitting) cash donations only please.

Helmets must be worn. Please bring cash/cards for any refreshments you wish to purchase at the court yard, along with any cash donations for the train ride.

We especially welcome newbies!
