It will be springtime and hopefully no snow-n-ice; the ride starts from Northwood and goes to Gladstone Park via the Welsh Harp (Brent Reservoir)

(The route was originally designed for a Christmas ride but I feel it will make a wonderful route as spring creeps in. You can join us from the refurbished museum in Headstone Manor Park, or in Harrow Recreation Ground at the Hindes Road entrance.)

This is 28 miles as a round trip returning to Northwood and the views should still be spectacular, weather permitting. We will take a break in Gladstone Park, a beautiful 92-acre park on a hill, which should have great views in April . It’s called Gladstone Park because the Prime Minister William Gladstone lived there in Dollis Hill House.
There is a cafe in the park called the Stables cafe - it gets busy for lunch but we may be able to have a coffee and cake - or we may be able to have a cuppa while we watch the rugby on another side of the park.
For those of you who would prefer to come back by train there is Dollis Hill and Neasden, both on Jubilee Line, or Cricklewood on the Thameslink line.
My route takes us along quieter residential roads and through a few parks - and there are a couple of footpath cut-throughs to give us a bit of saddle rest. As we go around the Welsh Harp reservoir the footpath could be muddy and/or frozen at this time of year.
We can choose on the day whether to go via the reservoir on the way there or on the way home - the route you see here is on the way home - and there will be a couple of minor changes to the published route make it more direct.
Hope you can join me!
