Grand Day Out - Canons Park Picnic from Eastcote

A ride on quiet roads and cycle paths, starting with a big hill up to Pinner Hill golf club, don’t worry if you need to get off and walk as we will wait at the top, everyone takes hills at their own pace. This is followed by a lovely downhill to Oxhey playing fields from where we will weave our way onto North Watford, Aldenham and another climb up to Elstree. We will then turn down Edgewarebury lane, which is a long downhill with great views of Wembley and Harrow on the Hill, the terrain is however a bit bumpy. After crossing the A41 we will weave through the residential streets of Edgeware to meet the riders from the other Harrow Cycle Hub groups for a picnic in Cannons Park.
The return route is more direct, via Wealdstone, Headstone Lane and Pinner
- Hybrid or mountain bike tyres will be best for this ride as some of the paths are bumpy
- Please check your bike thoroughly before you come, make sure the tyres are pumped up and brakes working.
- Bring a picnic, water, something to sit on, a bike lock and money/card for the café. I also recommend you carry a spare inner tube.
