Pimlico Farmers’ Market is in a beautiful location, on Orange Square on Pimlico Road. It’s a great place to grab a bite to eat while you shop, and there are lots of farmers and stallholders always keen to have a chat!
Market tips: The Fridd family of Saffery Farm in Kent have become an institution in the area thanks to their spectacular veg display from their farm near Rochester. Richard Haward brings up outstanding native oysters from his own oyster beds near Colchester.
South Kensington Farmers’ Market opened on Bute Street in 2008, and was the first new street market opening in central London in at least 50 years!
Market tips: Get there early if you want fresh south coast fish or shellfish from Dorset Fish. Grab a free range sausage sandwich from Parsons Ridge, choose vegetables from Perry Court Farm, Akiki Organics, Wild Country Organics and Brambletye. Look out for game in season, Fosse Meadows free range poultry, delicious bread, cakes and pastries from Olivier's Bakery, Artisan Foods and Honeypie, charcuterie, fresh pasta, ready to eat food from Le Moulin and more.
Notting Hill Farmers’ Market is one of the oldest Farmers’ Markets in London, having opened in 2000. It has a die-hard following, and for very good reason.
Market tips: Unpasteurised milk and cream from Hurdlebrook. The freshest fruit and vegetables direct from Wild Country Organics, Perry Court Farm, Ted's Veg, Brambletye Farm and Chegworth Valley. Cultivated & wild mushrooms, fresh pasta & pestos, asparagus in May, cherries in July. Don’t forget to pick up a bunch of seasonal flowers from Grange Nursery and a jar of local honey from Bee Friendly.
Children are welcome when accompanied by a responsible riding adult.
All participants are expected to bring:
• A bike in good working order with tyres pumped to the correct pressure. Please conduct a pre-ride
safety check on your bike.
• A cycle helmet.
• Carry at least a spare inner tube, pump and tyre levers.
• Dress for the expected hot
weather.
