What is the Rapha Women's 100?
A celebration of women’s cycling!... Rapha's annual challenge tasks thousands of women WORLDWIDE with riding 100 kilometres on the same day!! The global event is running on 12th September, but, due to the GNR, we are deferring the Newcastle one by a week.

Ride description:
Starting from the Hub, we'll follow a selection of cycle tracks and quiet roads that will weave us through South Tyneside, North Tyneside and Northumberland. The terrain will be very mixed and the scenery varied. (Most suited to gravel/hybrid/mtb bikes. Road bikes will cope, but might find some of the terrain a bit rough.)
There will be plenty of opportunities to stop and refuel, so bring plenty of snacks.
We will also stop somewhere for a proper lunch break.
The pace will be rolling but will be steady and sociable.
With consideration of time for stops and lunch break, expect to be out for about 8-9hrs in total.

As this will be a long ride, please consider having someone on standby to help you get home if you (or your bike!) are unable to continue for any reason.

Housekeeping:
In order for the ride to leave promptly, please be punctual so we can carry out bike checks, etc. prior to us setting off. Please make sure your bike is in working condition PRIOR to arriving for the ride. Although the leaders can help with minor mechanical enroute, we cannot assist with bike repairs prior to setting off.
Although helmets are not mandatory, they are strongly advised.

Please bring a spare inner tube to fit your tyres (check the size AND the valve type!) and/or a puncture repair kit... The leaders can help you fix a puncture, but only if you have the right size inner tube for your bike and/or a puncture repair kit!

If the weather is poor, we will only contact you if we are cancelling the ride and will do so by putting a message in the ‘conversation’ tab in the ride. You should receive a notification by email if there is a message. If you have not heard from us we are still riding.

PLEASE NOTE: This ride, although being led by British Cycling Breeze trained ride leaders, is NOT a Breeze ride and so is therefore not insured as such.
