SUMMER OF CYCLING
Two Wheels Can Go Where Four Wheels Can’t
Saturday 7th Aug 2021 - 43 miles
9:30am from the Hub (Newcastle quayside) - with consideration of some of the terrain we will be riding, the distance, the logistics of group riding and a lunch break, expect to be out for about 6-7 hours

Ride description:
Leaving Newcastle & Gateshead behind, we will follow a selection of cycle tracks and roads which will wind us through country parks, nature reserves and countryside in South Tyneside, North Tyneside and Northumberland.
The terrain is mixed and is mostly suited to hybrids, gravel bikes and mountain bikes. Road bikes will cope but may find some sections a little rough.
We will stop at a cafe where there will be an opportunity to purchase lunch, or you may want to bring your own.
Although a few inclines, there are no *monster* climbs. However, please only sign up if you're capable of the distance at a rolling steady pace.

Please bring a spare inner tube to fit your tyres (check the valve type too!) and/or a puncture repair kit. The leaders can help you fix a puncture, but only if you have the right size inner tube for your bike or a puncture repair kit!

Housekeeping:
In order for the ride to leave promptly, please be punctual so we can carry out bike checks, etc. prior to us setting off. Please make sure your bike is in working condition PRIOR to arriving for the ride.
Helmets are not mandatory, but are strongly advised.

PHOTOGRAPHY - The organiser of the ride may take photographs or videos of the ride and riders for publicity purposes. By registering to participate in the ride, you agree that photographic images of you or containing you, may be used by the organiser, sponsors or promoters of the ride for publicity purposes

If the weather is poor, we will only contact you if we are cancelling the ride and will do so by putting a message in the ‘conversation’ tab in the ride. You should receive a notification by email if there is a message. If you have not heard from us we are still riding.

If you book on the ride then find that you cannot come, please cancel your place so it's available to someone else and we know not to expect you. Thanks.
