Victorian Gems, Modern Masterpieces and City Sights

This is a slow sightseeing ride with plenty of stops to admire Victorian architecture, quirky features of London, modern and ancient buildings, views and more. We meet at the 'Birdcage' (pictured above) just north of Kings Cross station in the plaza. If coming on the Underground, it's best to leave the station by Lift A which is nearest the Birdcage. There are free toilets in the railway station. We ride north to the former Caledonian Market with its clocktower; past the Amy Winehouse memorial tree, down Cycleway 6 past St Pancras into Bloomsbury for coffee; through Holborn and Middle Temple to the Embankment; along Cycleway 3 to the City; past the Bank of England, Barts Hospital, Smithfield and back up Cycleway 6 to Kings Cross. As it's a Sunday the roads should be quiet.
If coming from Harrow you can take the 0845 from Pinner or 0850 from Harrow on the Hill.

A ride round the sights of London beginning at Kings Cross

About a third will be on protected routes and the rest is on quiet roads. There is a climb at the beginning; it is not a ride for beginners. You need to be confident in a bit of traffic, but will find it easier in a group.

We'll stop for coffee in Bloomsbury

Bring water, a bike lock, money/card for the cafe and card for the Underground. Check the weather and bring waterproofs if necessary
