About the route
Starting point
Free Car park, Trencherfield Mill is located behind Go Outdoors off Caroline Street Wigan
Come and join us on a ride through cycle paths, bridle ways and sections on the road. Starting at Trencherfield Mill Car Park talking the ride all the way through to the Victoria Tea Rooms at Dam House, Tyldesley. This ride is approximately 20 miles long and has a small sections through Leigh Town Centre on to the guided busway. This route is not suitable for road bikes, hybrids with slick tyres nor trailers.
The stopping point will be at the delightful Victoria Tea Rooms were you are able to purchase food and drink - so please bring money if you wish to buy from the tea room.
As this is a longer ride and also has road sections, anyone thinking of bringing their children along please speak to me first to assess their ability (or try one of the other shorter rides first)
Ideally you should wear a helmet and it is really useful for the leaders if you bring a spare inner tube as this is easier to fix punctures en route (however, don't let this put you off from attending if you haven't got one).
Bring enough fluids and snacks for the duration of the ride and any additional clothing you may need (especially if we have rain forecast).
