This ride is a 21 mile cycle path and is a popular cycle route which circles the city.
It will be run alongside a social ride so twice the fun!
The cycle path was built by Lancashire County Council with the support of Preston City Council (and significant help from volunteers) to leave a lasting legacy to Preston Guild 2012.
The Guild Wheel makes the most of the different landscapes and greenery that surrounds the city, creating a rich and varied environment for everyone to enjoy cycling.
We will wind our way through the Docklands, Lea, Ashton via UCLAN to Cottam to Broughton. The route from here leads us to Fulwood via cycle paths and quite roads before winding our way via the Crematorium to Brockholes Nature Reserve, quite a steep incline which is advisable to walk down!! Then we follow the most scenic part of the route through Brockholes Nature Reserve along the banks of the River Ribble and back to the car park.
We will have a stop for refreshments and lunch during the ride so please bring some money but it's advisable to bring snacks and a drink for the ride.
Please wear a helmet and suitable clothing and bring along a spare inner tube if possible.
We will ride at a pace to suit the group and nobody is ever left behind.
Any questions please e-mail Margaret or Joy at
[email protected] or post in conversation.
We look forward to enjoying this ride with you.
