BACK FOR 2019!
We’re closing the roads to traffic in Edinburgh on Sunday 22 September and hosting a free cycling festival for everyone.
There’s lots to do – from fun activities and challenges for the whole family to music, local street food and live stunt shows. Plus a few surprises on the day …
Come along and enjoy seeing your city from the saddle. You don’t have to do the full distance – just as much or as little as you want. You don’t need to be an experienced cyclist. There will be no cars on the road, so you can wobble, zig-zag and stop as much as you like.
It’s free, fun and the perfect activity for the whole family. So, what are you waiting for?
Everyone’s invited – see you there!
Log in or create an account to register for HSBC UK Let's Ride Edinburgh. Once you've booked your place on the ride, we'll prompt you to edit your profile to add your family and friends!
Public Transport in Edinburgh
Edinburgh has an extensive network of public transport services that will help get you to the start for HSBC UK Let's Ride! Visit their website here, to start planning your journey!
It's really easy to get into Edinburgh by bus, with plenty of fast and convenient services available from all key locations. You can find out more about Edinburgh bus routes and timetables here. We would recommend using Lothian Buses, number 24, 41, 42 or 67 on the day.
If you're intending to travel via tram, you can plan your journey here.
If you’re coming on two wheels you can check out our favourite routes here. And if you're happy to make your own way, head straight to Festival Zone in The Meadows for the build-up from 10:00am or ready for the start at 11:00am.
And don’t forget to bring your bike lock!
No bike? No problem.
Bike hire will be provided by city bike sharing scheme, Just Eat Cycles. The team will have a fleet of bikes at their 'hire station' in our Festival Zone, on The Meadows. Participants will need to have the Just Eat Cycles app available on IOS and Android to hire bikes.
Prices are: £1.50 per hour or £3 per day (24 hours of unlimited one hour trips).
Adapted bikes are also being provided free of charge by Cycling UK and they will be found at the start of the route, just outside the Festival Zone on Melville Drive.
Get involved in the big day by joining the team making it happen!
We’re looking for volunteers for a number of key roles – could you be one of them?
